In light of the successful launch of their new organic flexible filament Willowflex, Bioinspiration, a company built on values of eco friendly, sustainable manufacturing, are looking to you to do your bit for the environment.
For this competition Bioinspiration wants you to submit designs that take advantage of the unique properties of their filament in an upcycling competition.
What is Upcycling? Upcycling, also known as creative reuse, is the process of transforming waste materials and/or unwanted products into new materials or products of better quality or for better environmental value. 3D printing is clearly a great way to do this! Check out our Upcycling collection for inspiration.
Bioinspiration’s Willowflex is flexible, heat resistant up to 100 C and flexible to -15 C. It is also 100% organic, biodegradable and sustainably sourced.
Now you can print your teacup and use it to drink tea without affecting the structure. You can leave your 3D printed sandals in the sun and they won’t deform when you step into them.
WillowFlex Filament is a step into the Organic Material Evolution – access to materials and process that follow nature’s lead - compostable, upcyclable, harmless, innovative, resilient.
Don’t have WillowFlex filament? Don't worry, you can print your design in any filament you have. We will re-print and photograph all submissions in WillowFlex’s filament after the submission period. Just make sure to use easily accessible, cheap objects for your upcycling design, along with clear instructions and illustrations so we can reassemble them for you.
