Description
Hi Chris, First off thanks for a great YouTube channel, I’ve learnt so much from you over the years and have been inspired by your builds, it’s awesome work.
For my TRX4 build I wanted a SORCCA class 1 Toyota SR5 using the Proline SR5 body and I wanted a realistic retro look to and imagined Ron Swanson from the TV Show Parks and Recreation as the owner.
I couldn’t find the parts I wanted to convert it to a class 1 trail truck so I learnt CAD design and to 3D print. I used software on my iPad called Shapr3D for most of the design work and an Ender 3 to print the tiles on. Most of the main parts of the truck I designed myself, they are:
SR5 truck bed.
SR5 front grill with buckets for lights.
magnetic body mounts.
Hella fog lights.
Low profile and CG battery tray.
Rear shock mounts with multiple positions for more tuning options.
Winch that uses a standard servo and a winch spool.
The winch housing was the hardest and it took about 6 prototypes till it worked correctly and fitted. All the parts I designed can be found on my page on Thingyverse and are free for everyone to enjoy.

There’s also a drift car rim on there for 1/10 scale.
The SR5 truck bed was then filled with many parts I had downloaded from Thingyverse, printed and then hand painted.
The rear wheel is 3d printed to save weight and me buying another wheel (who sells wheels in x5).

I think that’s about it for now. I still have the interior to do but spend a little to much time out on the trials at the moment. I took a few photos of the TRX4 SR5 on the trails by my house and hope they’re the quality your looking for. The details shots have been taken as I’ve been building over the past couple of years, so not so good in quality.
I look forward to seeing more of your work with your new 3d print/cnc/laser cutter. Theres so many possibilities!
All the best,
Chris
Yup i’m another Chris!
