A very difficult miniature to paint that is at the same time supremely rewarding to finish. I am happy with the result but I repeatedly had to start over to get to a point where I was happy.
Determining where the scaly body ends and the 'skin' begins is difficult. If it ends too quickly than this looks off and unrealistic. I recommend blending the scales to skin transition several times like I did.
The fire attached to the body is also difficult to identify as sometimes it appears just like one of the scales. In the end, this is easily solved by making a simple judgement call. Unless you have too many or too few it will look great. I recommend going only with those pockets of fire that stand out on a first viewing.
All this being said, all four poses of this miniature are outstanding. The quality is unsurpassed and frankly this is just a downright beautiful piece of 3D modeling. One of my favourite.
