Life long Iowan, starting as the oldest of 5, on a small multi-generational Dairy, Hog, Fowl operation. Fixing, fixing, fixing... tools, tractors, building new better tools. In iron/steel, non-ferious metals. Yea, I know stuff. After all that mechanical engineering & animal husbandry training. I did CLEP 5 hours of Biology. I'd only had 6 weeks of Biology, in 8th grade.

I have been a trained Industrial Technology, Graphics Designer for ~+40 years. I learned design with my T-Square, curves, triangles, lettering devices, lithographic copy tools, from table/60" camera, to press. Information Technology available at that time was 4-5 Apple 2+'s with "shift mod" It was a huge deal.

I did graphics design for years in the classical way, but still using AppleII's & the first Mac's. I then lived & worked in an OS7 - OS10 environment, along with Win 3.11 with Novel. (ewwww) DEC-VMS,IBM3090-TSO, UNIX mainframes were more fun! I worked with a good friend that used Speach Synthisyzers on 2E, 2GS Apples. He was a graduate student & was blind. I "un-menued" most of the software tools he used. Using Apple DOS & ripping the graphics out so his card could read the menues I created for him. Then for 28+ years I was an IT Systems & Network Engineer level 3, designing networks using VISIO, building those networks if a contract was won, installing them. This was for Siemens VDO.

I designed, built, maintained many many networks. Small & large locally. From Atlanta, Ohau, NYC, Monteray and London - UK. I designed with HP Server & Network Gear. P-Blades, S-Blades, GL-server platforms. I transferring my design skills to digital formats, mainly with Visio. I needed more, so I looked at OpenSource platforms. I started with SuSE, now use Debian systems.

GIMP, Inkscape were my primary tools, I was building advertising copy for National Speciality magazines. Now I've been intriqued by 3D rendering and the OpenSource tools available. They maintained the same level of functionality as Win an OSX tools. Some better.

Today I work with OpenSource tools, examples, ideas', in both Debian x86, ARM 32bit and 64 bit platforms. My Printers are a Monoprice Mini, Ender 3 Pro. A Vega & a BMW... imho. I'd imagine your eyes are bleeding by now. I've done stuff, & I know stuff, and my other non-IT world is just as amaizing.
