In this part of the "Hatching Creatures" series I'd like to talk about designing believable creatures, using real life as reference, inspiration and stylized vs realistic.
After this month's release of the Monkey King and his Demon Apes Royal Guard I found great inspiration in sculpting stylized animals. Monkeys in particular are so dynamic and interesting that I jumped on the opportunity to add to the Monkey King's cohorts.
