Description
It is covered by a mask depicting Astyanax wearing his characteristic Phrygian cap.
This probably comes from a theatrical stage, as marble masks were placed as decorative elements on various buildings, particularly theatres.
This one most likely depicts a pantomime's mask, rather than one from tragedy.
