I bought this on preorder just so I can bring you guys something fresh. I wasnt excited about the Demibot frame until it arrived and I realized this is something special. It was a fun challenge to design parts for because usually Im trying to protect the frame from breaking. With this frame all I needed to do is protect the impact points and not add a bunch more weight. Minimal form but maximum function. Botgrinder wanted it to look like a flying demon, that's what I've tried to deliver.
Starting with the vbat wire guard I chose to install the esc 180 degrees with the battery plug facing forward. There is no stadoffs at the rear of the stack but there is plenty of room for the cap and wires behid the camera. The tpu part itself has been designed to unclip and bend out of the way giving access to the wires. The tpu wraps around and clips into place snug.
The skids come in two flavors. Both are designed to spread the impact evenly between the spikes of the frame and to prevent fraying of the carbon. Top mount and bottom mount. The bottom mount are tougher and protect the very front and rear and the motor screws while giving some ground clearance not adding much wieght. the second version are top mount and go between the motor and frame. They are designed to come up just below the bell to keep bando grit from getting into the magnets. They hang down below the arms and clip into position providing a stable platform for landing. They are stylized with cutouts showing off the thick arms and they have sharp features for traction when you come in for a quick landing. They are designed to prevent the motor bells from being able to contact an impact surface.
There are three rear antenna mounts for sma connectors. (Update V2 rear has been modified to allow easier removal for plain/ELRS/crsf) One version is plain and only holds the antenna. The other two versions have a place for your crsf or elrs rx. Takes up minimal weight but gives a safe place for clean builds. They did well with this frame by keeping the rear end shorter than the arm ends. There is less chance of smashing the antenna because the rear doesnt stick out. (Update added a cushion for the vtx for running wires and ELRS/crsf antennas for more convenience during your build)
The gopro mount is meant to print in resin. Designed to be thin since there is a lot of surface area to spread impact around. There are steps that come up reinforcing the tabs that hold the camera. The frame being so wide allows for a solid mount. I think this one may be stronger than the tbs mount which is twice as thick. Ummagod says that the camera mount it comes with is good so Im not reinventing it. I have made a psychedelic design using the botgrinder logo and burned it to the frame using my laser. I've included an image in case you want to burn your own.
spoiler alert- I am also working on the Sector 5 frame from geprc and the qav-s jb edition. Those builds are coming up next. I have files for the geprc Mark3 ready as well but I am waiting on motors for that build.
