The Questionably Reliable Energy Pistol is a horrendous battlefield weapon. It holds incredible power but has a catastrophic failure rate of ~16%. Someone's face is getting melted, and it might be yours.
While any reasonable person would have to be forced to use such a weapon, there are many reasons why someone might want to use Literal Russian Roulette as a weapon:
- Space Madness
- Regularly coming up against enemies who have a greater than 16% chance of killing you instantly
- An inability to understand probability math
- Being, generally, dumb as hell
- Feeling VERY lucky
- Crippling Gambling Debt
