Description
Microraptor gui is a small, feathered dinosaur that lived in what is now China during the Early Cretaceous period, approximately 120 million years ago.
It was a member of the dromaeosaurid family, which includes other famous species such as Velociraptor and Deinonychus.
Microraptor gui was a unique dinosaur in that it had four wings - not just two like most birds and other feathered dinosaurs.
Its wings were made up of feathers that extended from its arms and legs, giving it the ability to glide and possibly even fly short distances.
This feature is known as "biplane" flight, and it is not seen in any living bird species today.
