Welcome to Phnom Penh, Cambodia!
These models were created by MiniWorld3D founder and lead 3D artist Dany Sánchez.
This entry includes 3 models:
- • Canadia Bank Tower
- • Vattanac Tower
- • Gold Tower 42
These are some of the most iconic buildings in Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia, which has sprung high-rise buildings all over in just a mere 10 years—and more on the way.
The Canadia Tower is regarded by locals as the first skyscraper of the city. Finished in 2009, it kickstarted the building craze and amazed people, many of which had never seen a building this tall, at 112 m (367 ft). It has since been dwarfed by almost everything else!
The Vattanac Capital Tower is probably the most recognizable and unique building in Cambodia. It rises 187 m (613 ft) and is located only a couple blocks north of the Canadia Tower, in the heart of the city. It opened in 2014 and quickly surpassed its neighbor, being the tallest building in Phnom Penh until 2020. It is linked to Vattanac Bank, and has a luxury mall, hotel and office space. Its unique shape is inspired by Khmer nagas, a mythical cobra-like snake. It has been shrouded in controversy because of the high maintenance costs stemming from its awkward shapes, and for the impossible prices that keep most of its floors and mall empty.
Lastly, the Gold Tower 42 also has a strange story, remaining unfinished at the time of this publication, despite being in construction since 2008! It is the tallest of the 3, and was the tallest building in the city at 195 m (639 ft) until it was surpassed by The Peak complex in 2021. It is clad in yellow glass, hence its name (from Wikipedia).
MiniWorld3D is excited to bring this model to life as a homage to all people of Cambodia. Please give credit, it's all about spreading culture and education!
