The portal has been scanned at the SMK where a plaster cast of the original portal, along with other parts of the same Church, is kept.
The original is located in the western part of Norway, near the Sognefjord and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The portal is intricately carved with knotwork and animal figures, showcasing the skilled craftsmanship of the time. The portal serves as an entrance to the church and is considered a masterpiece of stave church art, showcasing the fusion of Viking and Christian traditions in Norway's history.
