There is a wide array of variation that you can print and you could even use the watermelon generator to make your melon exactly how you like. You can find the generator here: https://tocogames.itch.io/watermelon-generator
The main variants here are:
- 45° spherical cut
- 90° Slices
- 60° Slices
- 45° big spherical cut
Printing a watermelon works as follows:
- Print your red part, this can be multi color with seeds, split into seeds/red or holes for putting filament inside
- Print the green part, this can be a single green color or a green part that is split in two parts.
- Finally print the white part (its a variant if the green parts is made up of 2 elements)
(There are also green parts that work without any white part inbetween)
- Simply snap the parts together (no glue required)
You can also find .3mf ready to print plates here https://makerworld.com/en/models/186283#profileId-205074
I recommend printing multiple parts of a color at once
There is no support required but you might want to print with brim for the thin parts.
The tiny watermelons also have red parts that come with a keychain hole or a magnet hole (10x2mm magnets) For keychain rings I recommend printing these ones: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5135293 Can also be hanged on backpacks etc. with it.
The watermelon is widely known as an symbol of solidarity with palestine. If you are going to a protest they are a great thing to hand out. They are of course also nice to have as something for the kitchen or just to wear on anything you like
