Yggdrasil lamp

This lamp was inspired by Yggdrasill, the Tree of Life, and Worlds in Norse Mythology where it connects the Nine Worlds. Keeping in mind the trials and tribulations that we are currently going through, the lamp is an optimistic symbol of connection as well as hope. The fire and ice are commentary on the existing environmental crises, and the aesthetic spectrum of light is symbolic of the diversity of species currently at risk.

** I was inspired by the globe lithophane created by RCLifeOn to design my own version of the globe and have edited the mesh in Meshmixer to make it easier to print and to fill in gaps in the STL that were created using his process. I designed the lampstand on my own using Autodesk Maya.
