3D printed the chess board and chess men and it looks great. I suspect he will be surprised. I can't believe it took so long to print, many many hours for over a week, but it was worth it. Very happy I decided to make this wonderful set. Only negative is the chess men are pretty light. Wish there was the ability to add weights or magnets. Recommend you consider giving it a try.
