3D Printed Puzzle Clearance Test
3D Printed Puzzle Clearance Test

This is a set of printer accuracy/tolerance parts for use with my 3D printed puzzles.
Since a tolerance or offset specified within a CAD program may or may not translate to real-world dimensions after printing, this set of tools can help you decide what kind of clearance you need for the associated puzzle prints.
I tend to print my puzzles using 0.2 mm clearances to get a tight fit that still allows for easy disassembly. The 0.3 - 0.4 mm clearance may be better suited for puzzles that will see a high amount of use and/or for individuals that may struggle pressing tightly-fitting pieces together.
