A remarkable battle took place in the 13th century BCE in the Tollense Valley in northern Germany. Archaeologists who are still uncovering the site have unearthed a massive 120 meter long bridge and hundreds of human remains. They estimate that over 4000 warriors took part in this struggle!
This is a huge number for Northern Europe at the time and the history is further confused by the fact that some of the remains seem to have come from as far away as the Balkans and Anatolia. Clearly something of significance happened at this site 3200 years ago!
The battle was fought by mostly bowmen on one side (what are believed to be the defenders of the bridge) and men equipped with spear, sword, club, and more on the other. For this initial set we've made the choice of creating a visible distinction between the two groups with the defenders in more northern garb and the attackers wearing kilts and carrying swords. In the future we may add additional sets to represent the other weapon types and combatants.
Use our Modular Wooden Bridge set to represent the (supposed) objective of the battle.

Printed off 4 of each side, Archers and Swordsmen. The multipart kits really offer a lot of customization, and they paint up super easily. No super detailed areas to get lost in, just nice and straightforward. Definitely recommend the kit to anyone interested in the Bronze Age, or any sort of Swords and Sorcery settings. Can't wait for more.
