You are likely to encounter these hideous, undead monstrosities around graveyards, where they will feast on the bodies of the dead. Ghasts are similar to ghouls, with the stench of death and rot radiating from them, strong enough to make even the most hardened adventurers retch or vomit!
They are more deadly and cunning than their ghoul cousins and as a result, you will often find them as the Alpha's among ghoul packs. If you ever encounter a lone ghast, don't be surprised if you end up ambushed by ghouls - Watch your back...
