Found in the main deposit of sculpture to the north of the northern peribolos wall about 350 BC, this piece was carbed out of pentelic marble. This head is carved on an intermediate scale betwee the colossal and life-size heads, and may have belonged to a figure representing an ancestor of Maussollos. A series of such dynastic portraits probabl stood on one of the ledges around the podium.
