Sphinx in Buenos Aires, Argentina
Published 2014-11-27T15:48:19+00:00
This larger than life sized piece depicts a Sphinx, a cross between a human and a cat; unlike most other Egyptian sphinxes that are inherently male, this South American version is female- much like those made in Greece. The head appears to be Egyptian whereas the body is Greek. Its date of production is unknown, made out of granite and is now on permanent display at a public park in Buenos Aires. It was scanned with 56 photographs by Mercedes in Argentina.
