Here the sculptor has favoured the chisel, enabling him to delicately engrave each detail of the hair, rather than the trepan (pointed instrument), which is widely used for portraits of Lucius Verus and Septimus Severus. The same person can be recognised in a portrait kept in Perugia (Italy, Umbria).
