A 3D printable robust, durable and efficient small Cleat spanning 100 mm (~ 4”), to secure and anchor smaller lines and rope to a boat, canoe, kayak, dock, mast, wall or other surface, which is attached or mounted to the surface using standard M4 (1/8") hardware.
The part can be easily 3D printed, without any support, on a modern inexpensive smaller 3D Printer. It can be printed with a variety of materials, including PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA and many other types of printable materials.
PETG works very well for this application. It is easy to print. The object should be durable and easy to maintain.
ASA may be the best material for prolong outdoor use where the part will be exposed to UV. However, it may not be suitable for all 3D printers.
PLA should work as well, as long as the parts will not be used, stored or kept in a high temperature environment, exceeding ~55 C (~ 130 F).
Note: Optimal part strength is achieved with a shell thickness of at least 4 mm.
Recommended print settings with a .4 mm nozzle
