Looking for a compact solution to securely hold your miniatures while painting?
This listing includes the compact painting handle module. It is designed to fit in the 32mm deep storage box module and is a great addition to your travel painting kit! I have large hands and find this very comfortable to hold during long painting sessions.
You'll need to print one piece of the bottom section of the handle, and two pieces of the top section of the handle for a complete set.
Please note additional pictures are provided for reference only. The only items in this listing are the two parts necessary for the painting handle. You'll also need to provide two rubber bands to attach to the sides as shown in the photos.
The 32mm deep storage box module is available on my store and is not included in this listing.
Painted miniature is shown for reference and is from the Full Spectrum Dominance line from The Lazy Forger. This listing is in no way endorsed by FSD or TLF, I just really like those models and that's what I happened to be painting at the time of this photo. :-)
Print in FDM at 0.2mm layer height. I print the handle with the top on the build plate, and the upper pieces with the outside faces on the build plate. I've included a picture for reference.
I use a brim but don't need supports for these parts. I'm printing on a Bambu A1, so you may need supports for the rubber band wings depending on your specific printer. I use a textured PEI sheet at 50c to minimize warping.
I printed mine in PLA with 0.8mm walls and 10% infill.
Please note that Bambu slicer adds a seam along the edge of the bottom part of the handle, and while it's still functional as-printed I like to trim mine a bit with a hobby knife. This helps the top portions slide a little smoother. Not necessary, just a recommendation.
