This package includes three files to make interstellar voyages faster and safer in the Traveller universe. Jump 1 Drive, which allows starships to enter jump space, is normally installed in the starship Beowulf and allows the ship to travel one parsec (or around 3.25 light years) per week, the distance between most systems along trading routes.
However, in the outer regions of the Third Imperium, the stars tend to be a little further apart. While a ship can carry extra fuel in its cargo bay to make two jumps in a row, this requires jumping into empty space between the stars (a horrifying experience in its own right) and adds a second week to the journey.
To upgrade the Beowulf with a Jump 2 drive can extend the range of the jump to 2 parsecs (about 6.5 light years), allowing safe travel between the stars in the standard one week jump time.
But this is not all. The enhanced Manoeuvre Drives take the ship's speed from Manoeuvre 1 to Manoeuvre 2, which give the Beowulf some serious propulsion systems.
And a second fusion reactor, the Power 2, adds the juice needed for powering a Jump 2 drive and Manoeuvre 2 propulsion system.
The Type A Free Trader Beowulf is the most ubiquitous ship of the Traveller universe's Third Imperium. This 28mm scale official Traveller vessel features three stackable decks that are easily removed for easy access and play. It is designed to easily install third party lighting. The interior is customisable and has accessories, such as larger engines or jump drives.
There are several upgrades besides the Jump 2 Drive, Manoeuvre 2 Drive and Power 2 to customize the Beowulf to become what you want: Fuel Bladders, Rear Airlock, Mezzanine, Life Support Controls, Sardine Low Berths, Vacc Suit Locker, Garage Workshop and Garage 3D Printer.
