A mast for your Mokacam on your white water kayak
to record adventures while paddling down steep rivers, creeks and waterfalls. This printable set allows you to fasten your Mokacam right behind you, on the back handle of your white water kayak. It will give you an unprecedented point of view of your challenges while paddling the most difficult sections of your life. From the top of that mast, the Mokacam will record you, your efforts and the river features as you tackle them. Now you can record yourself when you nail that 60 footer.
Once assembled, the mast can be quickly fastened to one of the grab handles on your white water kayak. The handle at the back of the kayak provides an excellent point of view for the camera pointing forward. Slip the J bolt to catch the handle and then tighten the 5/16 nut assembly with the bell covering the handle cavity. Make sure the Mokacam is tight and pointing forward, slightly down to capture the paddler in action along with the rapids ahead.
On a typical kayak made for creeking, the mast does not pose navigation problems for most maneuvers except for back-deck rolls and similar motions where the paddle is swept across the back deck. In emergency situations, the plastic parts of the mast will break away and free the paddler.
It is a good practice to have a leash or a floatation device attached to the Mokacam in case of such an emergency situation.
This is not a toy; paddling safely through steep rivers, creeks and waterfalls requires practiced skills.
