This free sample set includes 3 QDS tiles and 1 set of steps.
Here is some information about QDS terrain.
QDS Is Quick
QDS terrain is designed to get your tabletop adventure moving quickly. With chambers ranging from 3.5 inches up to 7.5 inches they are large enough to start an encounter as soon as they hit the table. Lay down one chamber at a time as your players progress though the adventure [fog of war style] or pre build the entire adventure with swiftness.
QDS Is Double Sided
The terrain is playable from nearly any direction and the 3.5 tiles, 4.5 tiles, 5.5 tiles, 6.5 tiles, 7.5 tiles, corridor tiles, grate tiles and stair tiles are crafted to be double sided! Thats right! Double sides. You can even stack the tiles to create multi level game play and construct crazy shaped rooms on the fly.
QDS Has Low Walls
Table visibility and being comfortable in your seat is very important to us here at Mystic-Realm. This low wall design is great for all around viewing from anywhere around the table.
QDS Transports Easy
Quick and easy to grab and transport on the fly. Whats really helpful is that this terrain can stack inside its larger pieces. The 3.5s fit inside the 4.5s and the 4.5 fit inside the 5.5 etc. Game night, on the go, at a friends house, these double sided tiles can create an all night adventure.
How We Got Here
In 2019 we created the Quick Cave System [QCS] which was based off our 2015 resin Dark Elf Cavern. This dungeon theme terrain is our first expansion to the Quick System and we think you're going to appreciate the speed and versatility it has to offer.
We have did our share of testing with FDM printers and over the years it’s been a push pull of settings. We wanted a strong piece that was efficient and cost effective. For strength most of us target a higher infill. What we found is at 20% infill it seems to give the print strength, but! Even at 20% when it comes to little pokey things on the piece the infill might not line up with small protruding things like mushrooms, bulbous fungi, branch, roots and vines etc. Many times they can be hollow and break off on impact.
After much testing found with a thick exterior shell the protruding things are much more resilient to impact. This also means with the thick shell we can lower the infill and lower we did! We took it to 5%. The prints feel hollow and light weight but those tiny extremities are stronger.
Here is our current FDM printer settings.
.10 layer height
.9 top shell thickness
.7 bottom shell thickness
5% infill
