5+ kg force, 0.67 mm precise steps, a 48 mm small housing: the T-48B motor moves your stuff in a powerful and space-efficient way!
This motor is a redesign of the motor T-48/"Blue" originally developed for the Stormram 3. The original motor design used laser-cutting in a very complicated process, as the toothed pistons had to be cut/engraved from multiple sides with high precision while managing the variation in plate thickness. More details are in the paper.
For Thingiverse, the motor was redesigned to make it fully 3D printable while keeping the same overall dimensions. As an additional bonus, the maximum force has more than doubled thanks to the larger cylinder cross-sectional area!

Notes
Use a 0.25 mm nozzle for the pistons and rack to get sharp teeth for optimal operation. The rack can also be laser-cut from 4 mm thick acetal like in the original design of the Stormram 3 robot.
If you are not printing with 100% infill, use some impregnant to make the housing airtight.
Additional materials and tools
Silicone rubber sheet, 1mm thick
2mm (outer diameter) pneumatic tubes
M2 x 30mm bolts and nuts
Sealant such as blue silicone
Lubricant such as vaseline (petroleum jelly)
(Optional) Something to make 3D printed parts airtight. Impregnating agent "waterdichtmaken.nl" works fine. (Not needed when printing at 100% infill.)
Stanley knife with 9mm blade size
Drill with right size (1.9 mm) for tightly fitting tubes
Pressurized air source (compressor, ...)
