Shardaket, the malevolent sorcerer whose power has been twisted by the demons, leads the merciless excavations in the desert to extract Arcane energy, pushing his kin them further into darkness.
Bound by a pact to Lord Bhaal of Setrek, the City of Intrigue, Shardaket crafts the downfall of Eldanar, an enchanted city that bars the Ratkin's northward burrow towards Arba forest. The city's arcane bulwarks guard Yaldain, the sacred life-tree of Arba, from their relentless gnawing.
