Are you looking for a storage solution that won't break the bank in filament costs? I've designed this nesting storage solution for my hobby shelves to store my minis and small scatter terrain pieces.
I created this because I wanted a clean and simple storage solution, but many of the options I could find used a large amount of filament and really didn't offer the cost-effective solution I was looking for. I spent a large amount of time playing with the minimum wall thickness and shape to get a solution that felt sturdy enough for storage but minimized the material required.
Approximate filament usages are: (includes a 10mm brim)
100x100mm Lid - 11g
100x100x50mm Box - 28g
I put a small indent on one face so I could attach a label as well.
These pair well with my CorgiCompact Hobby System as a way to transport minis while painting on the go! This listing is just for the 100x100x50mm box and the associated lid. A reference picture is provided to show the other modules that are available for purchase (not included in this listing).
Minis are shown in the picture for reference and are not included in this listing. If you end up liking the concept then please consider purchasing the rest of the configurations listed on my store page.
0.2mm layer height, no supports required. I use a 10mm brim to keep them secured to the print bed since they've got a large, flat footprint. Make sure you have a clean print bed as well!
I use 10% infill, but I don't believe these actually print any infill due to the thin walls.
I've printed mine on a Bambu A1 using Inland PLA+ filament.
