Description
It was an absolute pleasure building this.
I printed the small Pendulum Clock first, however was never able to get it to work until recently due to firstly poorly sized bearings (the rod wouldn't fit through), then gritty ones.
I decided once I had tuned my printer enough to give this one a try.
The documentation was perfect, I managed to get the electromagnetic part on eBay here in Aus for around $10, and it just came together perfectly.
I had issues with double ticking which was due to there being a bit too much free spin in the second gear from the weight of the second hand, I resolved this by adhering a magnet to the part that stops it ticking backwards, this seems to put enough pressure on the the gear so that even as the second hand is at it's heaviest point it doesn't double tick.
The only downside is it is quite loud, especially with my mod. I am on the hunt for some thin soft felt to put on the pawls to quiet it down a little, have yet to find any but might report back my progress once I get them.
