Description
Defender Mk1 is the galaxy's most modern 28mm scale swing-role fighter. Once conceived as a inter-star programme to modernise the Space Forces of the Jovian industrial cluster, the Defender Mk1 has in the meantime been sold to five additional customers and thus doubled the number of its original user forces.
It includes an antenna array for communications and sensors, a pod of smart rockets on the front of the ship and an integrated UV laser for short-range attacks. This small range fighter is perfect for small carriers and can work as parasite-drone-fighters for ships without internal hangars.
- Detailed and modular interior, has space for two compatible starship tiles.
- Does not come with interior tiles.
- The Defender Mk1 can be printed at both filament and resin printer.
- Just 5 parts to print.
- Parts made for 28mm scale.
- Contains lychee files with supports for ease of use.
- Fit in most hobby SLA and FDM printers, its biggest part is 61x89x75mm
Printing Details
Tested on Creality LD-002H and Ender 3.
- The canopy is best printed in resin, or with its snap well supported or with the outer shell facing downward.
- It does require a good amount of sanding to give a good fit between the hull and thrusters, or use plastic filler to fill the gaps (this is my preferred approach).
- The antenna are really hard to print with an FDM printer, but they are very strong once you got them right.
- The small thrusters are very delicate, so be carefull when removing the supports.
- This model was designed first for SLA printers, it does print well with FDM at 200 microns, however it will require a good amount of supports in some details and for thin and long parts.
- Fit in most hobby SLA and FDM printers, its biggest part is 61x89x75mm
