I wanted to make a full-sized copy of this sculpture. I'd seen it in books when I was a child over 40 years before but replicas weren't available back then.
Fast forward to recent times and I was delighted to see a 3D model of the Lenormant Athena.
After downloading it, I revisited references online and discovered it was only 410mm tall. I took the 3D model and resized it in Meshmixer to match the original. I then cut the model apart into 13 printable pieces and got started.
After almost two weeks, I had all the pieces and glued them together. I then used a sand-colored paint/primer. After that I antiqued it with an off-white paint to give it a more antique look.
While not perfect, I was still so pleased with the finished sculpture that I had to share it here. ;-)
