Zeffin - Rogue Assassin
Zeffin has done things and been places you'd rather not hear about. But don't worry, he won't tell you anything. Just pay him his (very high) wage, and point him in the direction of his quarry.
"He scares me. I don't scare easily." - Pol Isturn, Torbridge Captain
Zeffin's past is a mystery. But dig a little and you'll start to make connections about where he might have been, who he might have worked for, and.... who fell to his blade. He carries on with a light, almost jovial manner. But beneath the scruffy and unassuming exterior, is a cold blooded killer.
Rudyard - Honey Mead Devotee
Rudyard loves his honey mead almost more than he loves his congregation at the chapel in Torbridge Cull. Ok, maybe he loves his honey mead more. And he loves his congregation a lot....
"No one else cares. I mean REALLY cares. I never knew one of them monks from the abbey was a guy I could just sit down and talk with. And drink mead. Lots of mead." - Perno Aguipa, Last Hearth Inn tavern regular
Sure Rudyard worships the Light, but what he really loves is honey mead. Rudyard is responsible for holding services at the shrine to the light in town every week. And because he's regularly heading down the hill, he's also been tasked by the abbey to bring mead down to town to sell at the market. About 1/2 the mead makes it to market. The other 1/2 he shares with his "congregation" and they spend the afternoon hours drinking sweet honey mead together.
Rua - Renowned Innkeeper
The capable owner and operator of the Last Hearth Inn, Rua runs a tight ship and is well respected by customers and employees alike. She suffers no fools and always treats visitors with a warm but curt manner that tends to keep people in line. Her clear physical strength and fearlessness has earned her the nickname of "Lady Bear", which she tolerates as long as it's said with respect.
"If she wasn't running the Last Hearth, she'd be running the country. That woman has more skill and authority about her than the king himself. You didn't hear me say that..." - Perno Aguipa, Last Hearth Inn tavern regular
Rua took the Last Hearth Inn over from its previous owners in what appeared to be a risky purchase of a very run-down, and nearly bankrupt establishment. Within three years she had nobility visiting from the Capital to experience "authentic life on the frontier, with all the comforts of home". Once word began to spread that the famous Last Hearth Inn was making a comeback, the business hasn't slowed down since; and all of it is due to Rua's ability and determination.
Ragust - Forsaken Fisherman
Ragust is seen by most as a reclusive eccentric, addled by grief and a life of solitude, but an otherwise honest man to be respected and pitied. His life of plying the Taranach river has kept him strong and supple, though the state of his sanity is often questioned...
"Bereft and lonely. Haunted. Forsaken. These words describe Ragust well. Yet, still he plies the river daily and has his catch brought to market every afternoon by that old hunchback. And so many subsist on his misery." - Rua the Innkeeper at the Last Hearth Inn
Over the years Ragust has become more and more reclusive and anti-social. It is clear to any who approach him that he prefers to avoid company. The only exceptions are his helper; a solemn and silent child of about 11 years of age who assists him with his nets and other river work, and the old hunchback who comes each morning to take his catch to market and try to sell it for him.
Pol Isturn - Stalwart Torbridge Captain
Captain Pol Isturn commands the Great Torbridge with efficiency and resolve. A veteran of the War of Darkness, he has seen things he won't talk about but which wear him down and create an aura of grimness about him that nothing seems to alleviate.
"Lord Tymore did well to give Pol command of the Torbridge. His command is efficient and effective. Now only if the Lord would send men half as equal to Pol to actually man the tower..." - Rua the Innkeeper at the Last Hearth Inn
Pol Isturn is a veteran of the War of Darkness that raged for more than a decade in the southern desert lands. He brought many scars with him, both physical and psychological, to his post at the Great Torbridge, but his calculating and resolute nature still make him the best candidate for the job.
Ofalmo Grick - Reviled Slumlord (and Chum - Vicious Attack Dog)
Ofalmo Grick rules the slums with a cruel and merciless hand. And that hand is often ready to release the leash of his vicious attack dog, Chum, and set him upon any resident of the slums brave enough to challenge him.
"The nastiest bit of self-aggrandizing scum ever to curse our town." - Rua the Innkeeper at the Last Hearth Inn
Arrogant and foul, Ofalmo Grick strides about the Torbridge Cull slums like he owns the place; because he does. He extorts every possible bit of coin from the residents of the slums, keeping them in inescapable poverty. Backing him up are his enforcers; large and brutish scumbags who don't hesitate to enact Ofalmo's will at the promise of some negligible slice of his power and stolen coin. His dog, Chum, is just as nasty; biting anyone who comes within muzzle length and eager to rend an rebellious slum resident any chance he gets.
Naida - Amiable Herbalist
A refuge from the War of Darkness in the desert lands, Naida fled to Torbridge Cull leaving behind unspeakable horrors. Yet despite, or perhaps because of, her traumatic past, Naida conducts herself with incredible positivity and friendliness. Her herbalist's stall in the market is a popular destination for those seeking both remedies and a friendly face to buoy up their spirits.
"She survived the worst of the Darkness and made it all the way to Torbridge Cull, and yet her kindness seems untouched by what she must have seen. I would argue she may be our town's greatest asset, and anyone who disagrees can drink at the Falcon's Arms." - Rua the Innkeeper at the Last Hearth Inn
Petite and unassuming, Naida's colourful garb and radiant friendliness bring much light to the often grim countenance of the collective faces in Torbridge Cull. She tends her market stall selling herbs and imported spices most days, but will often walk remote forest paths gathering plants whenever the market is closed.
Gaeorg - Notorious Mercenary
Gaeorg drags a dark and bloody past behind him wherever he goes. Once the exalted captain of the Ashland Guard, his deeds during the infamous sweep of Beggars Ditch in the capital earned him the title of the Butcher of Beggars Ditch. As a political move, he was retired from service, and in frustration and resentment he turned to the mercenary trade where only the deepest pockets can afford his services.
"Oh bloody hells. Him?! HERE?! The Butcher of Beggars Ditch? This kind of trouble is the last we need in Torbridge Cull. " - Rua the Inkeeper
The hulking, imposing form of Gaeorg, combined with this visage permanently marked with years of stern authority, are enough to quiet any room. But once people discover he's actually the notorious Butcher of Beggars Ditch, the fear and resentment spread like wildfire.
Esmira - Noble Born Adventurer
Esmira came to Torbridge Cull on a mission. A mission she will not speak of. As much as she tries to pass herself off as a simple traveler, her manner gives her away as one from a noble family. She arrived in Torbridge Cull with two very unique, and expensive, bodyguards: Gaeorg the Notorious Mercenary, and Zeffin the Rogue Assassin. She clearly has an agenda she wants to fulfill.
"It's rare to see one of the nobility out here. She must have a damn good reason." - Rua the Inkeeper
As much as she tires to hide it, you can tell right away Esmira is of noble birth. Her poise, her movements, her inflections, her manners... It's hard to mingle with the common folk when everything about you is conditioned to stand out.
Demoth Vedana - Seer of the North Woods
Demoth Vedana stalks the woods of the Endless Forest, mumbling nonsense and frothing at the mouth. Yet he's said to hold some of the greatest wisdom and secrets thought lost to the ancients.
"He's utterly mad. Yet some still seek him out for his deranged visions." - Rua the Inkeeper
The incoherent shrieking you might here while walking in the Endless Forest is most likely coming from Demoth Vedana. It's advised to stay away. Unless of course you've come SEEKING him... in which case there's no advising you, as you're already too far gone to listen to any sense or reason.
Clovis - Ominous Gravedigger
Clovis works the Torbridge Cull graveyard with grim and silent determination. This literal giant of a man never speaks a word, but is known to play eerie melodies on his bone flute (made from a human leg bone) by the light of the moon.
“At night you may hear him playing that bone flute of his. Human leg bone flute..." - Rua the Innkeeper
This towering man has never been known to speak a word. He works silently in the graveyard, preparing the place of final rest for those 'Cullmen who've passed beyond the veil. The human leg bone flute he plays solemnly under the light of the moon does nothing to make him less creepy.
Cela Ivis - Sadistic Gang Leader
Cela Ivis rules the despicable Cawg Gang with ruthless cruelty. Don't let her small stature fool you; this woman has a unquenchable thirst for power and blood.
“The saw is such a versatile tool. It may be a little... rough on other materials, but it gets the job done." - Cela Ivis, Cawg Gang Leader
The Cawg Cang is led by the conniving and supremely cruel Cela Ivis. This atrocity of a person will stop at nothing in her quest for power and wealth. She rules her minions with an iron fist, and any misstep (or suspicion of misstep) by one of her gang is met with brutal punishment. Her crew lives in abject fear of her wrath, and constantly clambers to look good in her eyes. Looking "good" in her eyes mean executing heartless efficiency when dealing with enemies or even their "clients". The floors of the lumber mill are often literally soaked in blood, as Cela herself enacts, or orders her despicable crew to fulfil, her ambitions.

“The only thing worse than a nobleman extorting you and making your life hell is a petty criminal doing the same. Such is a part of life in the tenements." - "Old Dog" Havar Tran, long time resident of the slums
The Torbridge Cull slums wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the power and influence of the criminal element that rules over it. The people who live there would have long ago brought themselves up out of poverty if such gross portions of their income, labour and sense of self-worth wasn't swept away by the tenement slumlord and his enforcers.
It is a place of desperation and despair, and few who fall into the trap of living in the tenements ever escape.

Not far from the slums, there is a small and modest chapel that receives many and varied visitors including pilgrims, those who live in the slums, and those who are unable to visit the church up on Hallanth Hill. Built during the construction the abbey, the chapel was built by workmen who laboured on the Last Hearth and the Torbridge and could not be make the long trek to the Wightwood Abbey. Though open to the elements, the chapel employs many fine features of design that the abbey itself possesses (both being built by the same labourers). Like the abbey, the chapel has stood the test of time, and at week’s end a monk will still travel down from Wightwood to give services at the chapel, though during the week those that visit must pray without guidance.

The slums of Torbridge Cull shouldn’t really exist. The population of the ‘Cull is relatively small, and while trade isn’t a big part of life in the vale, there is enough to keep most folks out of poverty. But Torbridge Cull is also a destination for the desperate, the hopeful and those seeking to hide. Many come to the cull as a last resort, and often find themselves suddenly without the means to get by, or to turn back. In steps Olfalo Grick, who promptly takes advantage of the situation and offers a roof over one’s head, protection, and even work. But the slumlord soon entraps his victims in webs of deceit and keeps them bound with fear. Many who would have otherwise redeemed themselves are stuck deep in the nefarious practices of the Cawg Gang and slip ever further into a mire of economic and moral darkness. Beware the slums of Torbridge Cull!

The Butchery is a small building with a removable roof, and tons of meaty details. Use it in your town or village square, or wherever fine foods are sold.
“Ebs the butcher may look scary, what with the scars and the blood soaked smock. But he’s a gentle giant, and in fact one of the kindest souls in Torbridge. No, you don’t have to be afraid of Ebs. However, the night butcher on the other hand….” – Demett Felp, a town square regular
When the huntsmen return from the Wightwood, they haul their kill first to the fur trader’s, and then to the butchery. And so, if the hunting is good, Torbridge Cull is kept in good supply of furs and fresh meat. But in those times when the forest is too dangerous to venture into, the butchery and fur trader must close their doors. And that is often the first sign the townsfolk get that something isn’t right, and they too then run home to warn their families…

“The art of butchering, captures all the senses. The sight of it, the sound of it, the smell and taste of it that lingers in the air…. There are many artisans who sell their goods in the Torbridge Cull market, but the artistry that emanates from the butcher’s is the most engrossing, by far.” – Demett Felp, a town square regular
There is little in this world more visceral than a butcher’s work. So public, yet the implications of our own mortality cuts to the bone.

“Duglas took over the shop from his father Fraser, who took it over from his pop Nordman, who supposedly descended from royalty. It’s been a long line of noble furriers here in the ‘Cull, and that’s something I think we can be proud of.” – Demett Felp, a town square regular

“You used to have to sit on the ground, but some visiting noble liked the food so much they donated the furniture.” – Demett Felp, a town square regular
The Torbridge Cull market boasts a wide variety of goods despite being in a run-down border town on the edge of the wilderness. Perhaps it is because of the history of the place, and the fact that Wightwood Abbey and the presence of Lord Tymore not too far away lend the place an air of prosperity and value. The people who stayed in Torbridge Cull after the town started spiraling into neglect are resourceful indeed, and the merchants among them have set up frugal but invaluable establishments for any who live or visit the ‘Cull. Between the stalls and sheds that occupy the square, one can find most of what they would need (and some things they definitely don’t) to live in town, or adventure beyond it.

Old Shenk the tinker has that table he lays his stuff on, and Ms. Desel the veggie woman wheels her cart here every morning at sunup. Torbridge Cull wouldn't be the same without them. They are part of this place as much as the Abbey." - Demett Felp, a town square regular

“I guess it’s a sacred place. Though you’d hardly know it with all the beggars and touts hanging about. They prey upon the pilgrims you know. I feel sorry for the people who arrive at the ‘Cull seeking the light up at Wightwood Abbey, only to be tricked and cheated by the hustlers at the fountain.” – Mickle Fed, market shopkeeper
At the heart of Torbridge Cull is the town square, and in that square a very unique fountain was constructed during the town’s wealthy past. It was built on the site of a naturally occurring spring, to provide rest and water to the many pilgrims arriving en route to Wightwood Abbey. At this spring there existed a small shrine important to the original inhabitants of the vale, and this shrine was incorporated into the design of the fountain, and members of the local faith as well as pilgrims would use the fountain as place to pay homage to their gods. For a time, there was harmony between all who visited the fountain and bathed in what were believed to be holy waters, but as Torbridge Cull fell upon hard times, internal and external strife plagued the vale, and the fountain became what it is today: a place that is more often occupied with locals washing their clothes and touts ready to prey upon any pilgrim that makes the journey. Still, the fountain retains its majesty and its solid construction serves it well. It is more of a meeting place now than a holy site, but water (holy or not) still flows from it readily, and any pilgrim who passes through the ‘Cull will stop and offer devotions at the shrine.

“You can tell that at one point the ‘Cull was rolling in coin. Not so much these days I’m afraid.” – Demett Felp, a town square regular
In the early years of Torbridge Cull’s history the town was quite wealthy, and much coin was funneled into attempting to make the ‘Cull match the grandeur of the capital. Such levels of excess were never reached, but many of the efforts of the time still exist in Torbridge Cull to this day. War memorials to the battles fought against the Orelog were erected and large stone benches, planters and braziers were placed about the town. Since that opulent time, other ‘public works’ have sprung up around the town, such as sign posts, a public fire pit, arbours and of course public hitching posts.

“If it’s new and worth knowing, you’ll find word of it posted on the Tidings Tree.” – Demett Felp, a town square regular
Many years ago, this old tree was very much alive and provided a well shaded area where locals would gather to exchange news. In fact, before any Talharian set foot in the vale, this tree served as a place where people would meet or leave messages for one another. When Torbridge Cull was settled, the tradition of using the tree as a messaging post continued. The tree became known as the “tidings tree” as all manner of news and information would be posted there. Eventually, nature took its course and the tree died, but the tradition lived on and certain “repairs” were even attempted to sustain the failing trunk. At some point, the town thought it appropriate to add a kiosk near to the tree; but to this day the tree remains the favoured place to post messages and proclamations.

“I had no idea my work was appreciated, until the surprise Linzer Torte.” – Ailis Born, recipient of a surprise Linzer Torte
Legend tells that during the great plague, there were a pair of lonely artisans working in a shack in the back alleys of the capital, crafting goods for shipment across the kingdom. They laboured long and diligently in their craft, but they never knew if their goods were truly appreciated, as the recipients of their wares lived far away. Then one day a package arrived from the far reaches of the kingdom addressed to the artisans. A note was attached that applauded their efforts, and praised their craftmanship. The note was simply signed “the Wandering Acorn”. Inside the package was a delicious linzer torte that glistened in the sunlight, and smelled of perfection. The two artisans joyously partook of the linzer torte and both their appetite for delicious food and their appetite for recognition were sated. To this day, across all of Talharia, when one wishes to thank another for their diligent work, the appropriate gift is a linzer torte accompanied by the statement “I also think humanity should be protected”.

All manner of nefarious plots are hatched in the dark corners of the gloomy tavern, and upstairs the meagre rooms harbour fugitives plotting their next move.
Like all IDG releases, the Falcon’s Arms has been designed with a realistic feel with lots of attention given to details and provides ample room for encounters. Includes IDG gameplay standards like our filalock functional doorways, and newer features such as our fog-of-war covers.

“Drink up, but don’t ask questions about the aftertaste. Questions lead to answers, and this brew was made in the Scribber’s brewery. Meaning sometimes knowing the answer gets you into a lot of trouble.” – Fenagal Mane, barkeep at the Last Hearth Inn
The Scribber Brewery: supplying cheap ale and hosting nefarious get-togethers for generations. If Torbridge Cull has an underbelly, this is it’s underbeerbelly. Falling apart from age and neglect, it’s a miracle the thing is still standing, let alone produce anything. A couple strong blows from any large beast and the whole thing might come crashing down.
Missing boards and loose stones abound, and some sections of the construction seems to be held up by nothing more than a few old bricks and spite. A large stone chimney belches smoke into the air most days, as the brewery churns out barrels of questionable drink. The grounds around the brewery are littered with broken and discarded casks, barrels of rotting hops and other wasted resources.
Despite its dilapidated shape, the brewery continues to function under the questionable management of the Scribber family, who make the beer and ale for the Falcon’s Arms and for export out of town (The Last Hearth refuses to stock libations from the Scribber Brewery following a series of severe reactions in customers imbibing the ale leading to lasting health problems). It is widely suspected, but not yet proven, that the Scribbers are involved in a cocktail of illicit activities within the walls of the brewery.
At night three is often flickering lamp light seen through the wide cracks of the brewery walls, and furtive, seedy looking travellers in dark cloaks usually end up paying the brewery a visit during their stay in the ‘Cull. The brewery is a great ramshackle building good also for a hideout or abandoned building.

“When we say we don’t want trouble around here, we mean we don’t want an itinerant monk, some kind of half-blind “investigator” and a brutish freakshow of a noble-born barbarian hag coming in here, throwing our livestock down the well and summoning demons. Pretty much anything else and you’re ok. ” – Fenagal Mane, barkeep at the Last Hearth Inn
The tavern furniture at the Last Hearth in is sturdy and well made. The bar is a relic from the long-gone years of prosperity the ‘Cull experienced, and the dividers that partition various tables are luxuries no one considers building anymore. Have a seat, order some ale from the Scribber brewery (if you’re brave enough) and enjoy the ambiance. All are welcome at the Last Hearth Inn; the first time at least. Respect the clientele and staff, pay your bills and don’t summon demons and you’ll likely be allowed to stay as long as you like.
Gravestones

These gravestones show the wear and tear of time and neglect. Yet those buried beneath could have been prominent figures, well known in their time. “Many of those buried here, no one knows their names anymore, or who they were. Their gravestones stand as a reminder that even memories are lost eventually.” – Kells Hamley, sexton at the Torbridge Cull cemetery
Walking among the gravestones in the Torbridge cemetery gives one a good impression of the history this town has seen. Quite a few of the graves are quite grand and expensive, but yet time and a lack of care has seen even the most important of gravestones teeter and crumble in a state of near total abandonment. Proud and important citizens of the ‘Cull were buried here with expensive and solemn funerals attended by the entire community. But now, very few even visit these graves, and many of the names inscribed on the stones have been worn away and the identities of those buried beneath lost to history. The Gravestones set provides a sampling of the elegant but ruinous gravestones that can be found throughout the cemetery. Use these gravestones to populate those parts of your graveyard that have been neglected, or as the stones that might be found in a cemetery that hasn’t been visited for ages.
Haystacks
The Haystacks set comes with five haystacks in various states of stackedness. These models can provide cover in your game and are great pieces of scatter terrain for any rural skirmish.

“Hey! I could be wrong, but I says haystacks are the ‘Cull’s greatest asset. They feed the livestock, make mice (which feed the cats which keep the mice away), and offer excellent cover is a savage battle against the Orelog! Or so my grandpappy told me.” – Demt Flosum, farmhand and philosopher
The haystacks of Torbridge Cull have indeed helped in the defense of the town in the years when Orelog still raided from the mountains. You can hide a man in a robust stack, and you can certainly hide many men in a field of them.

These Modular Cemetery Walls can be assembled to create any size enclosure you like. Ruined wall sections are included for a more damaged look.
- Long and Short wall sections
- 4 broken sections
- Gate section with working gate

“There is no help anymore from the Barrage to fix the damage done from when last the Orelog swept through Torbridge Cull. And yes, the Orelog are real. I can show you their bones.” – Kells Hamley, sexton at the Torbridge Cull cemetery
The walls of the Torbridge Cull cemetery in places look like a war zone. And that is because they were a war zone. When the Orelog last descended from the Khavahk Mountains a razed the town, the cemetery walls proved a valuable defensive line for the soldiers from the Barrage. Where still intact, the walls show remarkable construction, but in the areas that saw fighting, twisted metal and broken stone are all that remain.
Tomb Furnishings
The Tomb Furnishings set contains two vital additions to any house of the dead: a Sarcophagus and a Coffin Rack. A version of the Sarcophagus hides a secret staircase to a hidden undercroft.

“There are furnishings enough in there for the dead.” – Kells Hamley, sexton at the Torbridge Cull cemetery
Better than lying on the floor, a coffin rack gives some order to a house of the dead. A sarcophagus is even better, if you’re rich or important enough to get one.

“Back then, the dead were many and the cleared land was but little. Few were they that were lucky enough to get a proper burial.” – Kells Hamley, sexton at the Torbridge Cull cemetery
The Wightwood frontier has always been a dangerous place, but in the past it was even more so. The men and women from Talharia who first started to establish farms and fell timber in the region often met terrible and sudden ends. There was no time or room to consider an orderly cemetery, and the grave mounds that persist today are a solemn reminder of that time and of the hardships those people faced.
The Mausoleum

The emblem that sits atop the spire can be removed and both entrances feature working doors. Also available is our Tomb Furnishings set with sarcophagus and coffin rack.
“There are no locks on the doors to the Mausoleum. Respect is the lock. That and the fear of possibly upsetting Master Kaloch’s spirit. He did not take kindly to interruptions in life, and we assume it is the same for him in death.” – Kells Hamley, sexton at the Torbridge Cull cemetery
The Kaloch Mausoleum in Torbridge Cull is the finest in all of Wightwood Vale. It is imposing and well constructed, though time and lack of funding for maintenance have taken their toll. The interior of the mausoleum is roomy, with stairs leading up to a small turret, as well as a staircase down into the undercroft. A brass container for votives stands beside the stairwell; the ashes of decades of offerings darken the floor where they have spilled over.

The Last Hearth Kitchens feature a large open kitchen on the first floor and several rooms for storage and the like on the second floor. The model is designed to work in conjunction with the rest of the Last Hearth Inn set, but can be used independently as well.

“Life in the ‘Cull isn’t often easy. The working day of most citizens is hard and relentless, and if it was a bad year for the crops, the livestock or the hunters, food can be scarce. But no matter what food is available, the kitchens at the Last Hearth Inn seem to always make a delicious feast out of it. Many a hungry traveller has stayed on at the inn longer than they intended, just to keep enjoying the hearty fare. ” – from the ‘Guide to the Realm’ Talharian almanac
The Last Hearth Kitchens are always busy cooking up hearty food for hungry and weary travellers. Everything from expertly prepared and extravagant dishes for visiting nobles and VIPs such as Lord Tymore, down to meagre slops for the poorest of visitors. The large open first floor is often filled with tables of food in various stages of preparation, and the second floor has room for plenty of storage. Add this 3D printable Medieval Kitchens set to your collection and get cooking!

“Don’t put that back in the larder! Throw it in the slops pile and then wash the bowl in the scullery!” – Forks Farthum, Head Chef at the Last Hearth Inn
Any good kitchen has an ample larder and needs a decent scullery. A heaping mound of rotting vegetables is always a good sign that the kitchen staff are vigilant in the freshness of their fare.

“We must have arrived in Torbridge Cull during some kind of festival, for the hall at the Last Hearth Inn was packed with people laughing uproariously around long tables heavily laden with food and drink. Large flagons of wine and mead were being passed about generously and the whole affair was the most lively of feasts. ” – Tin Jon, adventurer and expert carouser
The banquet hall of the Last Hearth Inn becomes quite a merry site during times of celebration. Much food and drink is prepared and spread before the eager guests, and the best wolf-fur blankets are brought out to make everyone’s seat as luxurious as can be had for bench seating. VIPs sit in high backed chairs at the head of each table, and everyone digs in to the fine food the Last Hearth Kitchens have prepared.

The legend is that once a very old and very large barbarous woman from parts unknown came to stay at the Last Hearth Inn. Supposedly she lost a gold coin done the privy downspout from the outhouse on the balcony on the hotel. Much chaos ensued when she tried to reclaim it….
Modular Docks and Piers
The Modular Docks and Piers set includes a variety of sections of various lengths, widths and at two distinct heights. Intersections, bridges as well as a ladder and set of stairs are included to allow you to setup your waterfront however you like.
Sections included are:
- 4 types of dock section (short, long, wide and 3-way)
- 4 types of pier section (short, long, wide, and 3-way)
- 2 low bridges (roped and ropeless)
- 2 high bridges (roped and ropeless)
- ladder and stairs
“These here docks and piers have been built up over generations of hard working fisherfolk. Each child maintaining the work of his parents, each parent ensuring their children have what they’ll need. The mines and the mills all shut down once the King lost interest in the ‘Cull, but us fisherfolk never gave up. We’re the lifeblood of Torbridge, just like the river is the lifeblood of the vale.”- Ragust the Fisherman
The river that runs through Torbridge Cull is not to be plied by the faint of heart. It is fast, cold and deep, and many a fisherman has lost their lives being unwary on its dark waters. The docks that line the waterfront, and the piers that venture into the dangerous waters were built by generations of brave men and women who dedicated themselves to earning a living from the ample fish that live in the nearby waters. These walkways have always been the sole responsibility of these fisherfolk, and truthfully, they wouldn’t trust anyone else with the task of maintaining them.
These 3D printable modular docks and piers come with a multiple sections of various lengths and widths, and over two distinct heights (water level and higher up). Two intersections are also included as well as a set of stairs, bridges and a ladder.
Fishing Skiff
Includes Pre-supported version for resin printing
Ragust’s Fishing Skiff has a detachable mast, rudder and seating; so you can use it in a variety of functions. Ragust built this skiff himself when he was a young man, and although his neighbours often hear him hammering away at something in the middle of the night, Ragust assures everyone his boat has never had a leak.
“This boat has never sprung a leak. Not since it was built by my great-great-grandfather. Some say I am lying, and that I repair it nightly under the cover of darkness, with felted hammers. But no, it is a blessing for the river god that the rest of this town has forgotten. Only I remember her, and so only I receive her blessings.” – Ragust the Fisherman
Wether or not Ragust does repair his boat, or if his claims of blessings from the river god are true, is a subject of much debate at the Last Hearth Inn. Many pints have been consumed evaluating the evidence, and the subject has even elicited blows traded between a few extremely invested speculators. If you want to know the truth… well… there’s an adventure in that I’m sure.
Fishing Shack
- Includes pre-supported files for FDM printing
- Includes pre-supported files for resin printing (min build volume 192 x 120 x 200 mm)
- Unsupported files included
Ragust’s Fishing Shack is ready to work alongside the Modular Docks and Piers and of course has functional doors and has space enough inside to setup a comfortable abode or stage a brutal ambush.
“Why would I want to move? There is no better fishing than right here off my very own dock. Oh the incessant, otherworldly howling coming from the nearby haunted island each night? Look, at least I don’t have to listen to drunken fools singing all night like folks do who live next to the Last Hearth. I count my blessings.” – Ragust the Fisherman
Homely but sturdy, Ragust’s Fishing Shack has been the home to Ragust and his lineage since before the Torbridge was built. Ragust claims the fishing is better from the waters just off his dock than anywhere else on the river.
Dilapidated Shed
- Includes pre-supported version for resin printing
- Includes pre-supported version for FDM printing
- Includes unsupported version
The Dilapidated Shed can be used as part of the Last Hearth Inn compound, or easily on its own in any setup that asks for a ramshackle shed. The shed’s upper half lifts off for easy placement of minis. The low stone wall around the shed is designed to work with the Modular Farm Walls set as well.
“Yeah, we could probably build another shed, but it would just end up like this one in a hundred years anyway so what’s the point?” – Feg Nee, stablehand and layabout
The Dilapidated Shed was the first structure built on the Last Hearth Inn grounds, even before the inn itself! Workmen needed a place to put their tools, and so the shed was built on-site. It’s stood in the same place ever since, with the Last Hearth Inn literally built up around it. Many event and meetings both ordinary and strange have transpired in this shed, though with the door now lost (no one knows how), the shed is rarely used as the ‘secret meeting place’ it once was.
Last Hearth Keep’s Cottage
The Last Hearth Keep’s Cottage is a quaint, comfortable and multi-use two story affair. The two floors are connected by an external stairwell and the grounds around the building boast an arbour of grape vines and storage shed. This building connects to the Last Hearth Inn via a detachable walkway, but can be used independently as well with the facades provided.
- Two story building with external stairwell
- working doors
- detachable facades
“Steady yourself Galeta, there can’t be noises coming from ghosts in the basement because this cottage was built without a basement. In fact, town records show that the initial foundations of the Last Hearth Inn, this house included, were used as a desperate last line of defence during one of those legendary Orelog raids back in the time of our grandfathers. Now how could you use the foundations as a line of defence if there were a big hole in the ground for a basement! I mean, the only hole in the ground they might of had was to put the bodies of the fallen in! Ha! Ha!….. ha…………. ha…………….. oh. ” – Beof Lamis, groundskeeper at The Last Hearth Inn
The Last Hearth Keep’s Cottage has been the quaint and comfortable home for each of the Last Hearth Innkeepers since it was built in the bygone days of opulence in Torbridge Cull. Like much of The Last Hearth architecture, the second floor connects to the first via an external stairwell, which also allows the innkeeper’s quarters to be used as an ’emergency’ rental room if the need arises. Covered in a web of grape vines that were planted shortly after the cottage was built, the Keep’s Cottage has the look of a country homestead, though it occupies a central location in town. An open ground floor can be reorganized to suit the needs of the day, and one never knows if it is being used as a kitchen, meeting hall or makeshift bunkhouse when the inn, hotel and guesthouse are overflowing. Connected to the inn and tavern via a walkway, the innkeeper is never far from the centre of action at the Last Hearth Inn, and can be called at a moments notice if some dire need arises.
Courtyard Well
- Includes pre-supported version for FDM printing
- Includes pre-supported version for resin printing
The Last Hearth Inn courtyard well is a pleasant meeting place for adventurers and their NPC friends and also happens to provide excellent cover during the inevitable ensuing battle. Two print options offer a well with a hollow bottom or one with a flat bottom with wee lily pads.
“Some say they once slew a demon here, and threw its burning corpse down the well….. I don’t believe that, do you? Want your waterskin refilled?” – Edi the groundkeeper
The Last Hearth Inn courtyard well provides water for all the needs of the Inn. It also functions as a pleasant meeting place for both the workers and visitors at the Last Hearth Inn (if you don’t mind the smell of rotting demon… I kid).
Last Hearth Coach House
- Includes FDM pre-supported versions of all files
- Includes unsupported versions of all files
The Last Hearth Coach House consists of a stabling area and the loft above it. The stables have room to keep two coaches and several horses sheltered, and also a workbench and a wheelwright bench. A wide and double-wide door open onto the ground floor and each stall door opens to the exterior. Two doorways in the loft open onto a balcony and exterior scaffold. Don’t let your horsies spend the night unsheltered!
“There was a traveller, from the capital I think, who came all the way to the Cull but didn’t have enough coin to stay at the inn. We let him stay in the coach house, and he tucked himself in under the stairs for the night. The next day when I came to rouse him I found every stall mucked, every tool tidied, and every stone in the floor polished! I still don’t know who that traveller was or where he went, but I’ve never turned anyone away who needed shelter since that day.” – Bor Helig, head stableman at the Last Hearth Inn
The Last Hearth Coach house makes up part of the Inn courtyard that also includes the Inn, Hotel, Guest House, Kitchens and the Innkeepers house. It was built a little while after the Inn was built, as it became quickly evident that proper facilities were needed to look after the coaches and horses that came to Torbridge Cull from the more affluent families that were beginning to take an interest in the vale. Since the boom times ended, the coach house no longer sees many affluent guests, and of all the Inn buildings it has begun to show the most wear and tear. Still, it was sturdily made, and gets plenty of use stabling travellers horses, and occasionally travellers themselves.
Modular Farm Walls
The Modular Farm Walls set contains several straight and curved lengths of stone farm walls that connect to one another using stone posts equipped with our BattleGrip locking system. Create lengthy sections of wall, compounds and other stone enclosures to add to your tabletop game.
“Alfid’s ditch? Just follow the farm wall at the end of the street for about 3 miles till you reach the top of the hill with the stand of Oaks. Look towards the mountains and you’ll see a gully another few miles on. In the middle of that gully is Alfid’s ditch…. but why you’d ever want to visit that accursed spot is beyond me.”- Edis Malshot, shopkeep and resident of Sendsend
All across the Ashlands the farmers build their sturdy farm walls with rocks from the rivers that wind their way through the plains. Many of the walls have been there for centuries, and are maintained by the families of the farms they border. The walls serve to delineate property and keep docile flocks from wandering too far; though they also serve as landmarks for travellers where no roads exist.
This 3d printable Modular Farm Walls set comes with two straight lengths of wall, two curved lengths of wall, and five types of connecting posts.
The Fighting Pits
Now includes extension walls!
The Torbridge Cull Fighting Pits is a huge arena for the displaying of all sorts of ruthless bloodsport. The fighting area itself measures 16″ (400mm) in diameter, which doesn’t include the surrounding balconies, shop stalls, beast pens, the entrance gate and VIP booth or the towering judges podium and fighters barracks! If you’re going to stage a death match, might as well do it in style!
“Blood and glory! You should have seen the Ashland Reapers at the pits today, they made absolute fools of that team from Sendsend! The oracles didn’t make it easy for them either, but still, our boys from the Barrage couldn’t be beat! I’ve never seen so many retreats to the coward’s nooks…. it was like those Sendsend men were half asleep! Three times ashes fell from the perch and still they couldn’t face down the Reapers. I should have put more coin on the Barrage boys I tell you! I’d be a very rich man if I had!” – A satisfied patron of the Torbridge Cull Fighting Pits overheard after the match at the tavern in the Last Hearth Inn
When the popularity of the Farelain national bloodsport spread across Talharia, Torbridge Cull did not escape its influence. Cullmen (as those who lived there were sometimes called) were not ones to do anything half-heartedly, and when they decided to build an arena of their own to celebrate the new national obsession, they didn’t just dig a hole in the ground but instead constructed an arena to rival most save those built in the larger cites.
Additionally, the fighting pits of Torbridge Cull have the dubious honour of being known as the most savage of arenas. Perhaps it is merely a reflection of the harsh environment that surrounds them, but matches tend to result more frequently in death than they do elsewhere in the realm. Maybe the judges are less forgiving in Torbridge Cull, or possibly the local champions more vicious. Whatever the reason, a match in the Torbridge Cull pits always draws a crowd, and rarely does the spectacle disappoint.
Hedgerows
- Includes pre-supported for FDM versions
- Includes pre-supported for resin versions
The Hedgerows contains three different hedgerows, one long, one short and one curved. These neglected hedgerows are great as cover and (very) difficult terrain for any modern or medieval tabletop game.

- One curved brambly hedgerow
Modular Rural Roads (Core Set)
- No additional supports needed for FDM printing

- Included in this set are both versions of sections with embankments and "flat-to-the-table" versions.
- Versions with embankments use the Battlegrips, as shown in this video, to connect with one another.
- Flat versions do not use battlegrips
Sections included are:
- a 30° bend
- a straight section
- a ‘T’ intersection
- a 4-way intersection
- an end section
“I’ll be honest, it always makes me nervous when the guard from the Barrage come marching past Sendsend on their way back from patrol down at Brylinshor. I saw a lot of bad things during the war, a lot of evil that spread up from that accursed ruin and I always have a fear one of them guards will bring something, unwanted, back from the border. Oh, my opinion on the roads? Yeah, they’re great; make travel a lot easier. Sorry, I thought you wanted my opinion on the man from the Barrage….. “- Edis Malshot, shopkeep and resident of Sendsend
The history of Talharia is written in the blood of one war after another. And with a country as large as Talharia there need to be reliable ways of moving troops around quickly. The roads that connect the cities and borders of Talharia to one another were built by the King’s Legions between (and during) the many wars of the last centuries. During times of war troops are moved along them to the frontlines, and in times of peace they carry travellers and goods being shipped from one settlement to another.
These 3D printable modular roads come with a 30 degree angled section, a straight sections, a ‘T’ intersection, a 4-way intersection and section where the road begins or ends.
Modular Rivers
The Modular Rivers set includes a variety of river sections at various angles that can be connected end-to-end to create an endless variety of river systems. Each piece connects to the next with a version of our built-in BattleGrip tabs, so sections will not detach and are easily interchangeable.
Sections included are:
- a 30° river bend
- a 60° river bend
- a 90° river bend
- 2 different straight sections
- a large ‘Y’ bend that allows you to split the river into two
- a pond where the river ends (or a spring where it starts…)
“Mosquitos, midges, leeches, but the best fishing near Sendsend that anyone knows of! And you never know what you’ll find floating down the rivers if you spend the day hiking alongside them. Why, just last week I found this strange, black urn with all these weird markings on it! It was so weird ’cause my arms felt all tingly when I touched it. Anyway, I took it home and put in on the mantle. Had the strangest dreams that night too…. you ever wonder what a person tastes like?”- Edis Malshot, shopkeep and resident of Sendsend
Much of the upper Ashlands are crisscrossed with a matrix of meandering rivers, tributaries of the mighty Taranach and other sources of water from the Khavahk mountains. The rivers snake lazily across the plain and provide a means of transport for local farmers and travellers. Some run fast, some run slow, but they all bring live giving water to the communities and wetlands that make the Ashlands such a rich and prosperous region of Talharia.
This 3d printable modular river set comes with 30, 60 and 90 degree angled sections, 2 straight sections, a ‘Y’ split and a pond where the river ends.
The Great Torbridge
The Great Torbridge is a modular medieval bridge with one (or more) guard towers. The bridge can be expanded as long as you like using our BattleGrip system and can also be set up at two distinct heights. The bridge features exchangeable braziers along the parapet and multiple entrances to the guard tower, including a place to dock a small craft at the water level. The tower itself features five levels of internal play areas, defendable balconies, working doors, and a portcullis that can raise or lower.
“The legend of the Torbridge in Wightwood Vale has reached the ear of every person of learning in Talharia. One of the last structures the great masons of Brylinshor built before we lost their knowledge, it has withstood a hundred assaults by men and Orelog from the Khavahk mountains, and it could easily withstand a hundred more. Torbridge Cull owes its continued existence to this bridge, and to the men-at-arms from the Barrage who are ever vigilant on the walls of the tower. ” – Well travelled patron at a tavern in Helvas Alva
The sturdy Torbridge has kept the town of Torbridge Cull safe from the dangers of the mountains since it was first built by the masons of Brylinshor during the reign of King Hallanth. Its tower consists of five levels, from a water level entry, past the main portcullis and guardroom, to the very topmost crank-house. Balconies are accessible from the guard room and can be manned when needed. The tower is usually the first thing one sees over the rooftops of Torbridge Cull when one arrives from the Ashlands, and its sight has always meant safety and civilization from those weary of the long roads behind them.
The Last Hearth Guest House
The Last Hearth Guest House is a three story building designed to offer spacious accommodation for the more discerning visitors to the Last Hearth Inn. Alternatively, it can converted into a store, wealthy home or perhaps a hideout for adventurers….
“I should mention that while the total length of my stay at the Last Hearth Inn was two weeks, the very best part of it was when I moved over to the adjoining guest house. Away from bustling travellers in the hallways of the main inn, and removed from the lively sounds of the tavern, I had such peace and quiet that I slept quite like a baby!” – the same well travelled patron at a tavern in Helvas Alva
The guest house adjoining the Last Hearth Inn was built a number of years after the original tavern was constructed. Although the craftsmanship is not quite the same as the main inn, still the guest house boasts perhaps one of the finest places to stay in Talharia. The suites and roomy and feature plenty of windows for light and a fresh breeze. On the first floor, a private meeting room connects with the Last Hearth Inn tavern, so even noise from the main building is reduced. Anyone looking for some of the best accommodation at The Last Hearth should ask for a room in the guest house.
last Hearth Hotel
The Last Hearth Hotel is a massive five story affair with fourteen rooms for guests, a large room on the first floor for a tavern or meeting hall and an attic accessible through a trap door. The Hotel can be used in conjunction with the Last Hearth Inn and Guest House to form a interconnected building complex, or it can be used on its own by attaching a simple facade that comes with the model.
“Perhaps the most exciting thing about the Last Hearth Inn is the people you meet. Given its reputation, you can see why they built that huge hotel to accommodate all the folk eager to come and get a bit o’ the Cull while it was in its heyday. I was lucky to get a room on the top floor with my own private balcony (what a view!), but boy did I get my exercise while I was staying there with all those stairs!” – the same well travelled patron at a tavern in Helvas Alva
Before the hard times, the Last Hearth Inn was the perfect place to stay while visiting the thriving town of Torbridge Cull, and it wasn’t too long before the owners commissioned the construction of an even larger building to accommodate all the visitors flowing into town. The masons of Brylinshor had left long ago, and so there were no craftsmen available to build this new hotel to the same standards, but the locals did the best they could and the result was sturdy, if somewhat less refined. Still, the new hotel houses a great many more bodies than the inn could, and for a while each and every room was filled. Until the riches of the Wightwood began to become scarce, and then of course the Orelog came….
The Last Hearth Inn
The Last Hearth Inn is a five story inn complete with a large tavern, multiple rooms and hallways, exterior balconies, and even a hidden attic. The inn is designed to be used with the other buildings in the Last Hearth Inn core set (the Hotel and the Guest House), but it can be used on its own by placing an optional facade on the side of the inn. The set also comes with an optional front entranceway that can be used to change the look of the front of the inn.
“Have I been to the frontier? Wightwood Vale you mean? As a matter of fact I have, spent two weeks there at the Last Hearth Inn. Almost didn’t know I was on the frontier to be honest, as never a finer establishment have I had the honour of staying in. And I’ve been all over! The grand inns of Helvas Alva are made to look like beggars’ Hovels next to The Last Hearth! If you ever get a chance to stay there, it’s worth the trip and more… ” – Well travelled patron at a tavern in Helvas Alva
Built at a time when Torbridge Cull was overflowing with riches coming from the mines and forests, the Last Hearth Inn was designed to host a great many guests, and provide for them all a luxurious stay. The tavern boasts an intricately inlaid floor mosaic dedicated to the legendary saviour of Torbridge Cull, Lord Tymore, as well as a private room for the most intimate of meetings. A grand balcony overlooks the tavern floor and leads to exterior walkways that allow guests to reach their respective rooms. A special suite occupies the top most floor of this 3d printable medieval tavern (usually reserved for when Lord Tymore’s descendants visit) which even has a secret passageway to a hidden attic that only a few know about.

- a trio of marker stones

- a pair of signposts
- a winched device from which two gibbet cages hang
"The marker stones and signposts are there as landmarks, but no one remembers the marker stones. Everyone remembers the gibbet cages..." - Dorik, warden of the Downsway
The way from the capital to Torbridge Cull was at one time well marked and measured. And at one time banditry was quickly put down and the unfortunate bandits left as an example for all not to cross with the rule of the Barrage. Those days are gone, but the markers and the gibbet remain. Ghosts of a bygone era when the road meant something to the crown.
Wayside Rest House
- Includes FDM pre-supported version
- Includes unsupported version
This modest rest house model makes a perfect small building to be used as a shelter, small home or other simple dwelling in your tabletop games. The removable roof comes away to reveal a comfortable room with cooking stove and simple wall decorations.
"The road to Torbridge Cull is long, and the weather can make the journey twice as long if you're not prepared. If it wasn't for the small rest houses that had been built all those years ago, time spent on the road would be a lot harder." - Dorik, warden of the Downsway
The various rest houses that exist along the downsway from Torbridge Cull to the capital are sometimes literal lifesavers for pilgrims and other travelers along the road. The weather can prove very difficult as one approaches the Wightwood vale, especially in winter when cruel winds can sweep down of the Khavahk mountains with terrible ferocity. The chance to cook a warm meal on a hot stove and take shelter from the elements is a godsend for those who aren't properly prepared for travelling the long and winding road.

"The road to Torbridge Cull is long, and the way rife with obstacles. The miracle that the pilgrims experience by coming to Wightwood Abbey isn't anything they find at the Abbey, it's the fact they got here at all!" - Dorik, warden of the Downsway
Not since the heyday of the Talharian expansion to the west have the roads of the downsway been maintained. A few rest houses exists to shelter the weary, but the rest of the road can often be littered with debris and the occasional fallen tree. The Barrage sends out irregular patrols to try and help keep the road in manageable condition, but they cannot spare the manpower needed to do the job right. And so the road is always in need of repair. And yet. it is the only road from the capital to the 'Cull, and so it must be taken by any wishing to come west.

“Stay away from there. My mother doesn’t like visitors.” – The Eerie Child
The island of the Old Gods lies hidden in the mists off the northern shore of the river that runs through Torbridge Cull. The Animist’s Longboat was found by Ragust the Fisherman on the shores of the Island of the Old Gods. As old and weathered as it is, it sails without a leak, despite several cracks in the wooden hull. It also seems to know its way around the river on its own, for when it’s come unmoored it seems to always return to the Island of the Old Gods.

The remains of this suspensions bridge dot the waters from the north shore of the river to the Isle of the Old Gods. Now only tiny islands themselves, they hold clues as to who the civilization was that built them.

In the middle of that gully is Alfid's ditch.... but why you'd ever want to visit that accursed spot is beyond me."- Edis Malshot, shopkeep and resident of Sendsend
All across the Ashlands the farmers build their sturdy farm walls with rocks from the rivers that wind their way through the plains. Many of the walls have been there for centuries, and are maintained by the families of the farms they border. No, instead look for the dark and hidden shacks of those few hunters who remain; for the harder it is to find them, the safer they truly are.” – Teren Badewil, Outfitter in the Torbridge Cull Market

The Torbridge Cull Gruel Mill has been an essential part of life at the ‘Cull for as long as anyone can remember. Generations of “Gruelers”, as they are called by locals, have worked the mill and supplied a hearty and somewhat palatable food-like-substance for those who can’t afford better (which is most of the town).
Ever churning, the Torbridge Cull Gruel Mill forms an important visual landmark along the banks of the Taranach river. The site of the Great Torbridge may inspire wonder as it comes into view for weary travelers approaching the ‘Cull, but it’s the first glimpse of the Gruel Mill that let’s them know their bellies will soon be full, and an end to their journey is close at hand.

Near the end of a long and winding road leading out of Torbridge Cull, not far past the Lumbermill, stands the impressive dwelling of Marogot and Oscolta Adinakavui; a pair of aging widows who’s personalities couldn’t be more different. These two reclusive and eccentric twins are the subject of much local gossip and conjecture, and the house they live in has equally as much mystery to it.
By day, the younger sister Marogot can be seen cheerily working in her garden, or making conversation with locals in the market. But if one is paying attention, the fleeting shadow of the older sister, Oscolta, can be seen darting about the garden in the dead of night, or dipping in and out of the shadows between the stalls of the town square while the rest of Torbridge Cull sleeps.
The Manor was built by the twins great-grandfather, as successful merchant who took vanished mysteriously not long before the legendary Orelog last sacked Torbridge. Though he was never heard from again, his son and daughter-in-law continued to live in the house he built, and successfully managed his wealth so that his descendants continue to enjoy his impressive home.

“Milat’s? A fine house it is. Only been in there once, for the old Milat’s wake. New Milat does a decent job keeping the place up though, as he should. Wouldn’t want our elders falling on hard times now would we.” – Pik Namble, owner of the overland supplies stall in the market
One can find this respectable, two-story townhouse nestled into the denser part of old Torbridge. Near the centre of town, the presence of aged but sturdy dwellings tell of a time when Torbridge was more prosperous. Though those days are gone, houses like Milat’s are still very much coveted by those that own them. Each longstanding home in Torbridge Cull has a name associated with it; a name that been attached to the dwelling for generations. Milat’s Townhouse no longer has any members of the Milat family living in it, but simply by association the current owner and occupant is often simply called ‘Milat’ by the locals. Older buildings such as Milat’s Townhouse are often referred to as ‘elders’ by the citizens. Such is the importance and impact of these older buildings on the community.

The history of Talharia is written in the blood of one war after another. And with a country as large as Talharia there needs to be reliable ways of moving troops around quickly. The roads that connect the cities of Talharia to one another were built by the King’s Legions between (and during) the many wars of the last few centuries. During times of war troops are moved along them to the frontlines, and in times of peace they carry travelers and goods being shipped from one settlement to another.
This expansion pack comes with a 45 degree angled section, a 90 degree angled section, a dead-end, a fork, a hump (over a culvert), a narrow section and an alternate straight section.

“Oh how much joy my pumpkeens and tall-beans bring me! And the florisinth is in full bloom! Glorious! I tell you, there is nothing sweeter than rising at dawn to greet the day with gardening in the warmth of a summer’s day. These pumpkeens are almost ready for harvesting. You should come back in a week and I’ll have a pie for you! Now, if only I could manage to weed out all of this Caliston Thistle, Garn and Thornbed from my beautiful garden…. ” – Marogot Dallishire, Twins resident
“Caliston Thistle, Garn and Thornbed…. to most they are a bane to be eradicated. But to me, they are divine healers full of medicine for those who know how to harvest it. Keep your pumpkeens and tall-beans, they are sweet but lacking in power. I do my gardening at night, by the light of the moon, and the bounty I harvest yields its riches only to those who wield a secret skill. To all others, poison, but to me it is healing and strength. ” – Oscolt Dallishire, Twins resident
After the last Orelog raid, when the north shore of Torbridge Cull was left in ruin, many of the surviving townsfolk focused on growing as much of thier food as they could close to home. Venturing out of town generated much anxiety for years after that last raid, and people were happy to be a little less dependent on the farms.
There are three vegetable patches in this scatter set. Each one is quite different from the next and suitable for setting up as an urban garden patch, or a small patch on a farm.

From the edge of the town you can just make out a small plume of chimney smoke and the distinct roof of Grumble’s cottage in the distance. His house is the stuff of local legend and Children are warned not to wander too close to “Grumble’s” (no one remembers his real name) as he might snatch them up and boil them for diner. Twice a year he comes into town to buy supplies. He never speaks, but a low mumble and fragments of language can be heard tumbling from of his mouth by those that pass him in the street. Rumour has it he colludes with forest spirits and that is how he has lived so long near the Wightwood without incident. Others say that he is not a man, but a demon that escaped Brylinshor when the Darkness came and is hiding here, waiting to return. Whatever the truth, it may never be discovered as locals avoid the cottage at all costs. Maybe he’s actually a really nice guy just waiting for some brave souls to pierce the illusion of his malevolence…. but who will take that risk…

“I remember when the mill did only honest work; back when the ‘Cull was showered with endless favours from the throne. Now it sometimes seems the mill only operates to act as a cover for those villians the Cawg Gang. Be careful if you venture close adventurer, the Cawg Gang doesn’t take kindly to interlopers, and more than a few souls have disappeared while sneaking a peak at their operations.” – Devon Riverson, aged wharf rat
This legitimate business also acts as a front for the illicit activities of the Cawg Gang. A two story operation, the mill features a semi-enclosed yard with lots of room for sawing as well as a walkway above the yard and an office (for legit bookkeeping of course). The Cawg Gang isn’t that interested in keeping the mill in top-shape so signs of wear and tear give the mill an overall dilapidated appearance. The mill also attaches to a huge water wheel that supplies more than enough power to run all of the machines (one wonders where all the excess power is diverted too…).

“Those piles of lumber they have in the yard? They’re arranged far too inconveniently not to be hiding something behind them. Some of those stacks of lumber have been sitting there for years! There’s no doubt in my mind something they don’t want anyone to find is buried beneath them.” – Devon Riverson, aged wharf rat
Lumber has so many functions: build a house, construct a pier, hide things behind or under it that you don’t want anyone to find…

“It’s a dark day friends. The Reapers lost on the third mount. Those Sendsenders were really out for revenge after the last beating they took. Charger Ryton had to defend the ring all on his own as the Rivermen dominated the first tier and wouldn’t let support reach the hole. Those cowardly Rivermen sent their seekers behind the barricades every time the Reapers went for a Scourge…. disgraceful! A dark day friends… a dark day indeed.” – An unsatisfied patron of the Torbridge Cull Fighting Pits overheard after the match at the Last Hearth Inn
The Fighting Pits on their own are a spectacle incroyable, but when the Tower and Ring are setup for the grand competition, the matches are over the top, often literally.

“I had another vision. The Wightwood was troubled by a terrible storm. Treetops bent and split, pushed about by a ferocious gale and the rain pelted the land like iron nails driven by the gods themselves. From within the forest a light sprung up, piercing through the dense tree cover and shining out into the night like the beacon of the Watchspire. The land around was bathed in golden light and the storm seemed to swirl around the glow, and a group of figures could be seen standing in one of the old stone circles near the centre of the wightwood. The figures were immersed in the light, and suddenly raised their hands to the sky, which thundered as a response. Then they shouted in unison, “Temoth angua nuk telati hof tua!” and the winds redoubled their force, and the rain fell even harder. Yet the blinding glow from the circle of menhirs did not dissapate. I awoke in a panic, but later was able to visit the Abbey and attempt a translation of what I heard. What I discovered created even more questions, and made me much afeared: “Soul of/at the land/home, guardian , clean/purge all/life”. – Demoth Vadana, known to some as The Seer of the Northwoods
The Menhirs of the Forest Folk have been around since long before the Telharians arrived. Yet their purpose has never been made clear. There are some who know… but they stay hidden, until now.

“I had a nightmare, a vision most terrifying. The Torbridge lay in ruin; it’s arches smashed and broken, it’s colossal weirs crumbling into the river. Fire blazed in the Tor, and smoke billowed out into a winter sky. The bodies of guardsmen from the Barrage floated downstream, and blood soaked the snow on the paths leading from the bridge to the buildings on the north shore. I could hear the howling of wolves coming down from the mountains, and here and there throughout the old town came the sounds of desperate battle with an unknown foe. Then from the smoking Tor emerged a twisted but powerful figure. In it’s right hand it held a crude and bloody blade, and it dragged behind it the body of the guard captain. A moment later several other twisted men, all clad in thick leather clothing and bits of crude metal armour, came skulking out of the gate and began to make their way towards the heart of town. Their hunched and hideous bodies brought to my mind immediately the warnings our grandfather’s fathers had tried to drive home to a disbelieving generation of the battles fought with the brutal and savage man-things from the mountains. The realization hit me with the force of a blow: The Orelog had returned.” – Demoth Vadana, known to some as The Seer of the Northwoods
The visions of The Seer of the Northwoods range from the absurd to the eerily accurate. Would the Orelog (if they really exist) come again to bring ruin to Torbridge Cull? Would they be able to penetrate the awesome defenses of the Great Torbridge? Such a thought is truly chilling.
