Alraune - A woman made of mandrake, the main character of the novel of the same name.
Appearance:
Described as an extremely attractive and beautiful woman. In pop culture, she is often portrayed as a half-woman, half-flower. Her upper body is human and usually green in color, while the lower body is a large flower, often rose or rafflesia.
General description:
Since the mandrake root is remarkably human in shape, many myths have told about the magical properties of plants. Some of them said that they grew under gallows, born of the seed of a condemned man. Alchemists also held that if a hanged man ejaculates, the earth absorbs his final "forces", giving birth to a mandrake. According to others, only the blood of a condemned man was enough.
The root of the plant was also used in the production of love potions and drinks to facilitate pregnancy.
Some witches were said to have intercourse with revived madragora roots. Accordingly, their offspring would not be able to feel true love, only lust, and had no soul (As was the case with Alraune).
The character of Alraune turns out to be Femme Fatale, and therefore a woman who brings ruin to men. Her amorous intrigues and enormous demands from men lead to a series of tragedies.
