When you see mysterious dancing lights in the fog of night, sometimes it is mischievous Will-O-The-Wisps…and sometimes it is something much, much worse. The Angler Demon is a supernatural ambush predator that favors foggy or magically darkened areas. It ‘swims’ slowly through the air, and its glowing ‘tentacle eyes’ can pierce the darkness to appear as tempting and tantalizing unknown lights begging to be investigated. It can grap nearby prey with tentacle arms (some varieties even have pincers) and swallow them whole. Its oversized teeth act as a cage that keep victims in its mouth until they expire.
The Angler Demon model comes with two different tentacle arms, two different pincer arms, and 3 different ‘eye stalks’, allowing it to be assembled in a variety of ways. It can even be made into a unique interpretation of an old-school aquatic eye monster.
Dark-Platypus Studio specializes in making models for role-playing game enthusiasts. Our models are designed to be printed in 28mm scale, the perfect size for Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, or other games that are often played on a 1” grid.
All Dark-Platypus Studios models are created by sculptor Andrew K. Barlow (me), and no AI is ever involved. All models have been checked for errors and test printed.
The Angler Demon was sculpted initially for the ‘Tentacles and ‘Eyeballs’ kickstarter several years back. It started life as a physical sculpt, and has since been scanned, digitally touched up and enhanced, and is now available here as a 3D printable kit.
