Description
This bust is a self-portrait of the master neoclassical sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen. The work, interestingly, was actually commissioned by a Hans West in 1810.
This work is a plaster copy of the marble version now housed at The Royal Academy of Fine Arts, The Academy Council, Copenhagen (inv. no. KS445).
