Once common pests and critters found around the world, ore eaters are the resulting monstrosity of unfortunate vermin that came across a tepralid nest. Tepralids are a parasitic creature that live on rock formations, and are often found in underground caverns, however, some occasionally get caught on earthbergs as they are ripped from Sordane’s crust and lifted into the sky. These parasites attach themselves to pests that wander too close, slowly taking control of their bodies and minds. The resulting monstrosities, known as ore eaters, come into being as their once fleshy bodies are entirely covered in a hard rock-like substance and the parasite dies.
