I was reading the story of Ushi no Koku Mairi, which tells how one of the most powerful curses in Japanese myths was created.
This tale tells how it is necessary to perform a ritual at the hour of the ox (01:00am - 03:00am), hitting nails in a sanctuary to weaken the veil that separates the earthly world from the spiritual plane. Causing terrible things to happen to someone specific, or just releasing evil into the world.
Based on the story I imagined this Yokai, which I thought of as two twin sisters who were somehow glued together, and brought back from the dead.
