Description
A fun little piece just to palate cleanse from all the other pieces I'm working on. I really had the idea of a pompous lord making giant intimidating armor out of gold when I saw this mini. I painted the hammer in a green marble style and liked it so much I duplicated the technique for the floor tiles and this technique is one of my favorite bits of this model. I did try using different golds and washes to add detail and tonal variety which I feel was largely... unsuccessful. Not sure what went wrong but the bright golds and the orangey golds just kinda blended into one without much discernable difference.
The model still looks good and I'm trying to remind myself that not every piece needs to be a masterwork. So for what it was... I dig it.
