Monte Compatri/Tusculum (Italy), acquired in 1893
Marble, 440 - 430 BC
The statue is part of a group of unusually small-scale pediment sculptures, of which a running girl, a kneeling man and a helmeted female head came to the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in Copenhagen. It cannot be safely determined any more in which activity the seated woman was once engaged.
