This is a model of the art deco stainless steel eagle gargoyles on the Chrysler Building in New York City.
I originally modeled this in Sketchup to be made out of sheet metal, so it is a little blockier than the actual sculpture.
The model in the picture is printed at 35% scale with 0.15 mm layer height.
UPDATE (09-MAR-2017):
The original OBJ file had some issues with disconnected faces and flipped normals (thank you Sketchup :(). The new STL file is completely manifold.
Printer brand : Ultimaker
Printer : Ultimaker Original
Rafts : No
Supports : Yes
Resolution : 0.15 mm or less
Infill : 10%
Notes : Rotate the model so that the nose is upward to minimize supports.
How I designed this
I originally designed this in Sketchup to be made out of card stock or sheet metal, so the shapes were created to ultimately be made into flat patterns.
