Description
At the head of the south procession, which ends on block II and continues on the next block III, a total of 16 girls are shown walking slowly, sometimes in pairs, toward the centre of the east frieze. They wear chiton and himation and some have a peplos over the chiton. The girls (2-6) hold omphalos phialai (a ritual vessel for offerings).
