Description
On 1094, on near Bairen, a decicive battle took place that gave the Almoravid Empire their second defeat ever at the hands of the same adversary who gave them their first. This scene is an artist representation of the Castilian Hero Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar, also known as El Cid Campeador, and his sub-commanders and peers brainstorming their attack on the numerically superior forces besieging Valencia.
This purchase contains the following pre-supported and unsupported figures:
- El Cid,
- King Pedro I of Aragon and Navarra, the
- Frankish Bishop Jeronimo of Valencia
- Pedro Vermudez
- Alvar Fanez
- Two Andalusian followers.
- The table where all the planning is done
Note: Designed in tandem to the scene but sold as separate objects, look for the following in the store:
- Two Christian Guards
- Two Muslim Guards ( in case you want to build that scene as an Andalusian planning scene, or whatever your creativity can conjure up)
- Blank Flag

Rey Pedro was a blast to paint! I've downscaled the height to 95% and made him 5% larger to fit better my other wargaming miniatures, but I think that in the future I'll stick to Reconquer designs realistic proportions. The mantle (cape) is one of my better successes! :-D
