This statue of a nymph with a hunting dog was part of a group representing Diana’s companions; the other figures were carved by Frémin and Mazière, and were installed on the same terrace of the Cour Marly. Made from 1710 to 1714, it was originally part of a fountain with an elaborately decorative base. The sculpture was installed at Malmaison from 1800 to 1877, and at the Château de Versailles from 1884 to 1997.
