This spool holder is designed with minimalism in mind. It is designed to be as simple, as small, as easy to print, and as strong as possible.
This spool holder was build for the average 1 kg spool and designed to be mount on a 2x1 (nominal size) piece of wood.
It's small size, making it one of the smallest submissions, let's you easily store it away on your work table.
It is designed to be super easy to print. It does not require any support. It is also made so that there is maximum contact with the bed.
It features a rounded top edge which allows for a smoother rotation of the spool. It also has a little lip to prevent the spool from falling off the spool holder.
It has a hook at the back that will grab on to the bottom of the piece of wood. This will make sure that the spool holder doesn't fall off, even at heavier load then the one it is meant to support.
This spool holder has been tested to support at least 15lb (6.8kg) (I wasn't strong enough to pull more).
Note : depending on where and when your wood was made, it may result in this spool holder being a little too tight or too loose. Using a file to remove a bit of material or using tape to add more friction should fix the problem.
