The design is inspired and hope to raise awareness about Coral Sea reefs. Corals are animals with nervous systems and existed for more than 400 million years ago. We have lost in the last 30 years 50% of them globally and will lose 90% by 2050 even after meeting Paris Agreement targets. It is estimated that 25% of marine life depend on coral reefs in at least one stage of its lifecycle[1].
With a circular Gyroid in the middle, The coral tentacles have been carefully designed using a branched lattice and then carefully sculpted to have a natural waviness and also act as supports for the surrounding shape. The coral tentacles and tiny stones are intersecting each other creating internal channels with an organic feel, visible in transparent materials.
The design need a minimum to no support as most shapes are oriented upwards. The design has been prototyped in FDM with few supports done in Meshmixer. The material intended is a transparent SLA resin. The shape of the award gives the impression that two materials are used (as requested) only by manipulating the thickness of the organic shapes. thicker at the down side while slowly thinning upwards.

Looking forward to the jury decision and would be happy to assist in the printing process and also the making of "how it was designed" video showing a step by step process.

It is ideal to choose a thick infill for the bottom to keep the illusion of 2 materials and have a dark bottom that gradually gets lighter going upwards.
Most features are oriented upwards and the design should need little to no supports to be printed depending on the build orientation. The coral tentacles have been carefully designed using a branched lattice and then carefully sculpted to have a natural waviness and also act as supports for the surrounding shape.
