Description
The monument was erected by two brothers, Paramonos and Serapas, for their parents, themselves, and their families. Their father, Serapas, is the only one as yet deceased. He is pictured on the couch (preserved only in fragments). At its feet, a young man takes dictation onto an eilitarion (scroll). The representation of a scribe is rare, and may indicate that Serapas was an educated man, possibly also an author of books.
