This model, designed for the Esso design competition, repurposes a 250mL red-bull can in more ways than one. The hexagonal connectors can form any number of assemblies that are limited only to your imagination and number of cans!
The renders shown show a germination "pod" that would potentially sit indoors and allow one to germinate their seedlings efficently from cans, on cans! Just cut the top off a can and fill with soil to make a seedling bed, you may also need to poke a little hole in the bottom of the can to prevent too much water buildup.
The second render shows a configuration that acts as a stool which utilizes the cans vertical strength. I will be releasing some Hexagonal plates to fit over the top so the seat is smoothe but for now, this is it!
Some other variations that may catch your interest include a 6-pack holder, coffee table and a laptop stand. due to the hexagonal pattern, the configuration can be expanded infinitely and raised to any height.
Printed well in PLA at .2mm layer height with 15% infill. Support material is needed. Rotate each part 90˚ around X axis.
