Description
This is a head and torso fragment from a metope from the south of the Parthenon. The history of this metope fragment would have intrigued Rodin. The torso which entered the British museum with Elgin collection in 1816, was reunited with its head only in 1854 when it was acquired from the Duke of Devonshire.
