Banjo Strap Hooks
Banjo Strap Hooks

I keep a banjo hanging on the wall so that (in theory) I'll pull it down and get some practice in, or just play in a spare moment. However, straps are a pain! They get in the way when the instrument is hung up, but you really do need one to hold the neck up, especially on a lightweight banjo like the one in the photos.
Problem solved! Inspired by the MyMiniFactory instrument spare parts contest, here are hooks intended to loop onto the bracket hooks of a Deering Goodtime banjo (though it should fit anything else similar), and allow the strap to be easily added and removed.
Now, one thing that should be obvious - we're making these hooks out of plastic, and even a cheap banjo is still pretty expensive. Think carefully about whether hanging your banjo on plastic hooks is going to work out well for you! Am I using these on my Deering Goodtime, which weighs all of about two kilograms? Yes! They're great! Would I use them on my beloved walnut Bishline, whose tone ring alone probably weighs more than the Deering? No chance! :P
Also, these are hooks - they're probably useful for other things that aren't banjos, too!
Easy print! Nothing scary here. You'll probably want to use a high infill percentage for strength.
