This bronze statue, called La Poete (eng. The Poet) is a larger than life abstract or surrealist piece resemblant of a Picasso created by Ossip Zadkine (1890-1967). It is considered a memorial piece as it pays hommage to Paul Eluard. Eluard born Eugène Émile Paul Grindel (14 December 1895 – 26 November 1952), was a French poet who was one of the founders of the surrealist movement. Read more about his life on Wikipedia here.
